Final RoboCraft Post

RoboCraft is a very exciting, action packed racing/gun game all packed into a PC application.
It's a game made for all ages and truly is a game for all ages. Overall I really liked the game and I don't like gun games. I found the controls and basis of the game really simple. You can also get really complicated with weapons and robot layout. You can really make this game your own.

Controls for Gameplay.

The Gameplay is super simple and the controls are the same as any other computer game; w=forward, s=backward, a=left, and d=right. Also left click to shoot and right click to aim. Couldn't be simpler!

The basic aim of the game is to build up a robot and battle it with other online players to take over the enemy red teams base. There are a few differences between each type of battle including map type and slight change in aim to winning.

Some tips I have for becoming the best in this game are as followed:

Tech Tree; Where you upgrade parts.

  1. Make sure your robot is made of good materials.
  2. Have descent weapons on board including guns on front, sides, back, and top.
  3. Have a radar to detect enemies ahead of time.
  4. Always be upgrading your robot.
  5. Don't follow other players; if everyone is going to attack the other team, stay behind and defend.
Robocraft is an amazing game and overall very enjoyable. It is hard to say what it's future holds but from the looks of it, pretty positive. The makers are adding new elements to the game including fusion shields, fusion towers, overclocking and supercomputers. From the looks of it, the game will just continue to improve and become more popular. For more info on RoboCraft, visit this Link. That's all for now. Happy Battling!

RoboCraft Day 5

Settings panel. Circled is what I changed.

Today I only played for 20 minutes but I forgot to include a solution to the lag I had while playing RoboCraft. To fix this, click esc. and select the settings. then change to a lower resolution and a lower quality. This makes the game run MUCH faster.

Also, after playing over 4 hours of RoboCraft, I have leveled up to tier 2! This unlocked a ton of new upgrades and new items in the tech tree. Just goes to show that with a little dedication, you can level up in this game and become an amazing gamer.

That's all in this very short entry. Happy Battling!

RoboCraft Day 4

My Team Victory!!! :)
Today I learnt that if you kill more players and contribute more to the battle, you receive more rewards, which makes sense. What I did at first was drive up to a robot and shoot it point blank, which doesn't work as the robot kills you first. What you should do is find a hideout point and shoot down people from there. Also, if every other teammate goes to attack, stay back and defend and you will save the team from  destruction.
Added better guns to front of robot.

Another thing I did a lot of was upgrading, as usual, but it really helps in battle and staying alive. Upgrading your weapons helps in destroying other robots. Another tip for battle I didn't mention was shooting the guns first. If you do this then the other robot has no defense.
Back of robot with thrusters and radar.

Another great tool to have is a radar. This helps so much when you want to take the safest root to the enemy base as it shows where the other players are as far away as the opposite side of the map. Also, having thrusters helps speed up you robot a little bit. I am not saying you are going to be as fast as a cheetah, but you will be able to catch other players quicker and easier.

That's all my tips for the day. Have a great day
 and happy battling.

Robocraft Day 3

Today, I played on the standard battle instead of classic and it is WAY better than the classic.
Here is why:

  1. It is a longer battle
  2. You re-spawn after dying
  3. The battle is more intense.
To get to this kind of battle, click e to get to the battle type menu. Then click battle mode and you will automatically enter a match. It is the same idea as classic, except you are defending a nuclear reactor of some sort.
This is the menu that pops up when you click e. Click the top option.
Another thing I did was some more upgrading. I played enough battles that I was able to upgrade One of my guns and add thrusters. Also I purchased some extra protective parts for my robot. This definitely  helped me in battle and I suggest you get these products as well.
The front of my robot. Bottom right hand gun is upgraded.
One last thing I noticed as I battled was that my tier level was going up. I am still tier 1 but I am 3/4 ways to getting to tier 2. Then I will be able to get tier 2 upgrades from the tech tree.
My tier level.
So, once again, go on to standard battles, upgrade parts, and watch the tier bar. Happy Battling!!

Robocraft Day 2

Today was a shortened day so I didn't get to do as much, but I did learn a little bit more about upgrading. If you are going to win any battle you are going to have to start to buy upgraded parts. What I did, and what I suggest you do is take the money you earn in battle, go to the main menu, press t to get to the "tech tree" where you can buy new parts. As you continue to level up, you will unlock more parts.
This is the tech tree and the parts that it contains.
Another thing I did and suggest you do as well is check out the other parts of the garage. You may not know this, but there are 2 other garage bays with 2 new robots ready to be customized. Try them both out in battle and see what you can improve with them. To get to them click g when on the main menu and select which bay you want to load.

One last thing I learnt was that you really need to get the steering down. I was in a battle and trying to get over a bridge, when I got stuck. Instead of clicking s to go backwards, I clicked w to go forward and was stuck and waited to be killed.
To rap this up; Learn to upgrade, check out bays 2 and 3, and practice the controls for battle.
Happy battling!!!

RoboCraft Day 1

Today was my first day playing robocraft and I thought that this game was going to be complete and utter crap. But turns out Mr.B picked something fun for once.
So when I was told that we were doing this project, I went and downloaded the game at this link .
Robocraft start screen

Some of the controls confused me at first so I played around with the keyboard and as in every other, the main forward, backward, left, and right controls are w,s,a, and d. To shoot use the left mouse click, to aim the gun, use the right mouse click.
The list of controls robocraft.

After learning all the controls, I customized my cart and tried the practice level. I would recommend trying this level as it gets you used to the controls and basis of the rest of the game. After that, I tried the first multiplayer battle and that was a BAD IDEA!!! For the first battle or two you will loose pretty quickly. So prepare to be disappointed. But once you level up a tier of 2, you will get higher end building materials. My final advice is use heavy and dense materials to build your robot as this will protect it from being destroyed. Anyways, have fun creating and battling!
